Setting up multiple displays
When you use your interactive flat panel with a computer that has an additional monitor or a built-in display, you must configure your display settings for your operating system.
For Windows XP operating systems, ensure that the interactive flat panel is your primary monitor.
For Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems, complete the procedure below.
To identify your interactive flat panel as your touch screen
- Open Control Panel > Tablet PC. Ensure that the Display tab is visible.
- Click Setup > Touch.
- Touch the screen the interactive flat panel two or three times until the text changes.
- This message should appear on your interactive flat panel: "Touch this screen to identify it as the touchscreen. If this is not the Tablet PC screen, press ENTER to move to the next screen. To close the tool press Esc."
If the message doesn't appear, press ENTER until the message appears on your interactive flat panel. - Press ENTER to skip through any remaining screens until the window closes.
Note: Do not touch any further touch screens as the correct association between the selected monitor and touch screen will be lost. - Click Apply.
Important: If you have difficulty with the above procedure, set up your interactive flat panel as the primary monitor (or main display) and try again.
Calibrating your interactive flat panel with Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 operating systems
Calibration ensures that your computer recognizes the position of your pen. In Windows 7, when you calibrate for the first time, the screen uses 16 different reference points. This initial calibration applies to all users of the Tablet PC. If you calibrate again, only 4-point orientation is used, and apply only to your user account.
Under normal conditions, the interactive flat panel doesn't require calibration. However, calibration may be required if touch is inaccurate to calibrate your interactive flat panel:
- Open Control Panel > Tablet and PC Settings. Ensure that the Display tab is visible.
Note: If you have multiple monitors ensure that you have identified the interactive flat panel as your touch screen. - Click Calibrate.
- Press each target with an interactive flat panel pen as it appears.
Note: Each target may take several attempts, so please be patient with this process. - Follow the instructions on the interactive flat panel.
- When finished, click OK on the Tablet and PC settings page to finish the calibration.
Important: If you make a mistake like pressing somewhere else then the target you will have to repeat the procedure.
Note: To clear your calibration data, for example, if you accidentally performed the procedure, click Reset.
